The Finnish Cancer Organisations issues grants for research purposes as well as travel grants for researchers and health care professionals for study, conference and presentation trips.
Grants
The Finnish Cancer Organisations grants focus on four areas:
- cancer prevention
- early diagnosis
- better treatment
- patient support
The application deadline for the 2011 grants has been reached. Next year's grants will be called for application during summer 2012.
The Cancer Organisations do not award grants to researchers or research teams that receive funding from the tobacco industry. This includes companies (or subsidiaries) that earn a major portion of their income from the manufacture or marketing of tobacco products.
Grants for psychosocial cancer research
Psychosocial cancer research includes studies on the psychological and social aspects connected with the onset, risks and diagnosis of cancer and its different stages. Grants can also be awarded for the preparation of a thorough research plan. The subject of the research can also be a social environment such as the family and working life.
The application deadline for the 2011 grants has been reached. Next year's grants will be called for application during February 2012.
Travel grants
The various funds of the Finnish Cancer Organisations award travel grants for study, conference and presentation trips only in the spring of each year.
The application deadline for the 2012 grants has been reached. Next year's grants will be called for application during February 2013.
The Cancer Organisations do not award grants to researchers or research teams that receive funding from the tobacco industry. Any company or group of companies that derives the bulk of its revenue from the manufacture or marketing of tobacco products will be deemed part of the tobacco industry.
Final report and accounting
The final report and accounting must be carried out within two years of the approval of the grant. More>>
